Full disclosure - Gary and Evie are neighbours. That said, when we were looking for the artisan to supply our new kitchen, we went to market. Having met with other artisans, it was Gary’s clear passion for the work, his willingness to work with you to realise your dream kitchen, the ideas he’ll suggest for the design, a visit to see one of his completed kitchens at another client and his simply being a lovely bloke to work with, meant he got the business. Discussion and development of the initial plans was a great collaborative process where Gary clearly used his considerable experience to build on the ideas we were coming up with. He’ll also tell you (gently!) when something is simply not going to work! The designs were clear and well presented, allowing us to visualise and understand his proposals and give the go-ahead for the build. Installation did take some time as there were other trades and dependency items to be completed as we progressed, as well as remembering that when it’s clearly a craftsman at work and every single item is made from scratch, these things are not to be rushed. Gary remained flexible and accommodating as the schedule changed slightly. Our brief was clear - we were looking for a hard-working, hard wearing ‘‘Shaker style’’ kitchen with statement Charente oak worktops and fittings such as heavy-duty drawer runners that are going to stand the test of time. Gary not just fulfilled, but went over and above to deliver this brief; the look, the design and the feel of the overall installation is stunning. It’s a pleasure every day to simply be in the space, to use our beautiful kitchen and of course to show it off to all our guests!
